SCHOOL DAY OF NON-VIOLENCE AND PEACE

Hi kids!
Today is The School Day of Non-violence and Peace ( DENIP) which is a  voluntary initiative of Non-violent and Pacifying Education. 
It's celebrated on January 30th every year, on the anniversary of the death of Mahatma Gandhi.

BORN: 9th October 1940 in Liverpool (The UK)

DIED: 8th December 1980 in New York ( The USA)

PARENTS: Freddie and Julia

OCCUPATIONS: Musician, singer-songwriter, artist

INSTRUMENTS: Vocals, guitar, keyboards, harmonica, bass guitar

GENRES: Rock, pop, experimental

His death was a tragedy because he was murdered by Mark David Chapman. In 2008 the magazine Rolling Stone put him on the 5th place in the list of 100 greatest singers of all time. People from all countries in the world can sing his songs.

He was one of the four members of The Beatles, a vey famous pop-rock band in the 1960s. 

1963-64 was a period of Beatlemania in The UK and the band had millions of FANS all over the world. 

He wrote lots of songs for The Beatles. 

 

In 1970 the band broke up and John continued his artistic solo career. He wrote Imagine in 1971 and  the song has become a hymn to PEACE.
